Driver Education

I've gone through the experience of a teenager learning to drive, two times now. We paid for both of our kids to take a drivers training course. Of course, that required me driving them in and out of the city to do so. I sure wish that they would have had aDriver's Education DVD back then! I'm sure my kids would have much preferred learning from a DVD, than listening to a dry instructor! There are 7 interactive lessons, as well as quizzes. I'm sure at a cost of $34.95, it's MUCH cheaper too!

Another item to check out is the Emergency Roadside Car Kits! They are a must to have here in Canada, especially during the winter months. It comes with 63 pieces - everything you need if you're stranded somewhere with car trouble!

American Idol
sanjaya_malakar.jpg
I have to admit I got caught totally off guard the other night when Sanjaya didn't get voted off the island/evicted from the house! I really liked him in his initial audition, but he just seemed so weak and pathetic once competition started! Sundance totally should have still been there!! I was also really shocked that Hayley is still there! Sure she's good looking, but she should have gone about 2 weeks ago! If this is any indication of how the voting is going to go this season, anybody could win!

Great Idea!

Those of us who have spent a lot of time online, have seen all the various dating websites throughout the internet. I think that Christian Dating is a wonderful idea! For people to whom their faith is the focus of their life, meeting a person with similar beliefs is of the utmost importance, and not always easy to achieve. It's not like you can run into a good looking man at the grocery store, and say, "Want to go for coffee, are you a Christian?" I think this is a great idea! It's also free!

Wedding Invitations

Wedding Invitations

Here is a picture of one of Sarah's wedding invitations all assembled. They totally suit her personality. She went to a little store where you picked all the different papers, and the style, font, wording, etc. and they send them to you to assemble. You have to fold the outer card, glue in the "invite", then glue the sleeve and slip it over. Then Sarah decided to personalize it a little further, and she added 2 little pink rhinestones to the centers of the larger flowers. They look really pretty in real life. :)

1-800 No Drugs

I think almost all of us know of, or are related to at least one addict. Whether it be drugs, or alcohol, the power of addiction consumes people, ruins families, and kills people. Often by the time an addict reaches bottom, and realizes they need help, they're out of money and out of options. Their self-esteem is non-existent, and they don't know who to turn to for help.

Now there is a free, non-profit organization that can help anyone get into an appropriate drug rehab program. I think it's great, because it's all done privately, They will find the best treatment program that suits your specific needs. There are varying types of programs, and they will find the one that meets what you need in duration, intensity and setting. All at no cost to the addict.

1-800-No Drugs is also a wonderful resource for those seeking further information on addiction, intervention and recovery. They have links on alcoholism, drug addiction, prescription drug addiction and even dual addictions. They have lots of information for the families and loved ones of addicts as well, giving you information on what to expect before, during, and after treatment.
