My brother's new condo that is being built is about 10 minutes from my house. We went to the show suite and I had a tour. It's going to be a really nice place for a bachelor pad. It's very small, but it should be just fine for him. It's 10 minutes from us, and 5 minutes from his job, so it should be a huge relief to him to not have to commute 2 hours/day from Cam*rose any longer. It's going to be finished by Christmas.
We started with the kitchen cupboards. We chose the white finish, with brushed nickel handles, a brown/tan/gold marbley looking counter top, "sand trap" color paint for the walls (very fitting for a golfer I thought), white trim and beige carpet. The lino is along that same color family... looks like ceramic tile. It should be all very nice when it's all put together. He was quite grateful for my help, as they throw an overwhelming amount of samples at you to try and piece them all together. The lighting was also quite poor, so it was hard to get a feel for the "true" colors. But, it's done.
He came home with me for supper. We had BBQ hamburgers and ribs, potato salad and broccoli salad. He finally got to see Ben and his new truck. He hadn't seen Ben for the longest time! Ben is taller than him now. Heh!
I'm watching "The Block" season finale, and am going to have to "flick" to catch the first half hour of BB6, as they over lap... damn!
