The Work Goes On

Ben got home safe and sound last night and had a great time. He hopes to go back again next year. He slept in late this morning, and then he and Sarah went and got groceries for me, and then he cleaned up the Shaggin' Wagon.

Today I primed and painted the 2 closet doors and 2 endtables, stripped the wallpaper border, filled and sanded the walls, and taped the family room. I also got a lot of the touch ups finished. Hubby bought me some brushed silver spray paint, and I'm using it on all the closet door hardware. It's almost a perfect match for the hardware I bought in the kitchen. I even sparyed the bread box. It looks great! LOL Matches my microwave perfectly!

I'm all ready to lightly sand the closet doors, and do a final coat on them now that they're hung again and paint the first coat of the family room. I can't wait to see what the color looks like up on the walls. While the first coat is drying, I'm going to take down the remaining 3 doors, and hopefully sand and prime them as well. It's going to look really nice to get rid of all those dark wood doors! We have 5 big Oiler prints that we've collected over the years, and I found frames that will actually fit, at Home Outfitters. That's what we're going to put up on the walls for art.

Where was Ben? I'm glad he had fun! :) I can't wait until we get a house that we can paint and do stuff to. Only a few more years...probably in '07!! Sounds like you are having a little bit of fun even if you are talking about a LOT of work!!
